Kurious Kid Fest

Abby Fowers is hosting such a fun blog-fest all about Children’s books (click here for more info :) So in honor of Abby’s blog-fest here are my favorite picture books:

From my childhood: Never Tease a Weasel

I loved this book when I was little. I begged my mom to read it over and over…and over! You can tell I was born in the late 70's from the illustrations. The original pictures are great. I can’t vouch for the new edition :)

“Never tease aweasel. See now I’ve said it twice. A weasel will not like it and teasing isn’tnice.”

As a parent of boys: Millie Waits for the Mail

I guess this really isn’t boy specific, but my boys love it. My favorite thing about this book is—the pictures. Who wouldn’t love a cow hiding in a bathtub to scare the mailman. Darling :)

As a parent of girls: Fancy Nancy

This book perfectly captures the personality of so many little girls—especially MINE! I can’t get enough of the “sublime” words and glitter :)

Great children’s books represent the best of literature—clever, concise, funny, moving, artistic. Read one with a kid you love today!

I have to find that weasel book, it looks too cute. My kids are big fans of Click Clack Moo, so I bet they would love the second one, too. Thanks for the suggestions.

HOW FUN! All great books to share! I haven't read any, which makes it a good thing you shared because now I want to hit Amazon and do some shopping. I think my kids would LOVE them! Great post! Glad to have you in the KIDS-FEST! *happy dance*

Okay Angie, you happen onto all of these deluxe blogfests...when are you going to host your own? I have this suspicion that you already have some ideas brewing. Am I right? :) Great post. I'm excited to check these out! :)

Fancy Nancy! Love it! It was the first book I bought when I found out I was having a girl. We've read it so many times, I'm due for a new copy. Excellent choices!
